The South Australia Dinner - Zonge

Tuesday, 21 November 2017

Kelly Keates runs a business with worldwide operations that is surprisingly little known amongst the public of South Australia. Zonge Engineering was acquired from the former owner in 2006 by Kelly Keates. Kelly says she had no idea about the scale of what she was getting into. Zonge provides electromagne
tic ground survey services to the mining industry. The challenges included all the technical aspects of the business, conducting operations in remote and politically dangerous parts of the world, and possibly most daunting, succeeding in what is a man’s world.

Not only has Kelly carved out a strong market presence in a specialised field, but she diversified into a second business which provides monitoring equipment to detect leaks in tailings dams. This second business has real potential to save mining companies huge compensation payouts for environmenta
l damage. What has she done well, what disappointments has she faced and how does she do it all? The answer to these and many other questions will become clear at the final South Australia Dinner of 2017. If you wish to be amazed at the achievements of a penny rocket then you must join us at the Club for this inspiring guest speaker event. Ticket price includes two-course dinner with Club beverages.
