Club Dining Room

The Club offers an excellent and ever changing a la carte menu menu, complemented by a wine list that includes a wide representation of the world renowned South Australian wine districts as well as other significant Australian areas.

In the elegant, comfortable surroundings of the superb formal Dining Room, members and their guests are able to experience the highest quality service for dinners and luncheon.

Pre-dinner drinks and after-meal coffee and liqueurs may be taken in the classic and comfortable surrounds of the Member’s Bar.

The Club Dining Room is available to members:

Monday-Friday: Lunch: 12.00pm-2.00pm

Tuesday-Friday: Dinner: 6.00pm-8.00pm

Saturday:           Dinner: 6.00pm-8.00pm

Function Room Facilities

The Naval, Military and Air Force Club of South Australia excels at arranging private functions in a variety of available rooms with numbers ranging from 20 to 80 guests. Availability of rooms varies during the week, and bookings for special occasions should be made with the Club Secretary as early as possible to avoid disappointment. These rooms and the Club library can also be booked for business meetings.

Informal Dining

The richly panelled ambience of the Member’s Bar, together with the memorabilia that reflects the historical origins of the Club, is a popular place for members to meet their friends for a delicious light lunch or bar meal. The informal dining menu is designed to satisfy the varied tastes of members by offering a choice of traditional favourites and modern cuisine. Additional choices are found on the Specials Board where the selection of offerings is varied by the chef on a regular basis.

Club bar staff are on hand to enhance the informal dining experience, and are more than happy to assist members in matching a wine with their selection of food.

Business Facilities

To meet your business requirements, the Club also provides a full line up of audio-visual equipment including state-of-the-art multi-media presentation facilities.

Event audio-visual facilities

All are at your service, tailored with care to the needs of your function.

Business Lounge

A fully equipped individual work station is available for member use in the Business Lounge located on the first floor landing. The Club offers free use of a computer and printer to access both the internet and your personal emails.

Members who have booked a meeting room for business activities and require additional facilities, such as photocopying and fax machine, are asked to contact the Administration Office during working hours.

Bar

The Member’s Bar is located on the ground floor and offers a more casual social environment where members may dispense with jacket and tie (refer to Dress Standards).

Accommodation

The Club has recently refurbished its boutique-style accommodation which provides four elegantly, well-appointed en-suite rooms’ at most competitive rates for members, guests and reciprocal club visitors.

Continental breakfast is included in the price of the room and will be supplied in the rooms prior to check-in and replenished daily. Onsite car parking is also available for in-house guests.

Social and Recreational Activities

Billiards Room
The billiards room contains two immaculate full-size tables which prove popular with members and their guests, especially at lunchtimes and after dinner. Billiards and snooker competitions are held throughout the year and an annual snooker tournament is played against the Adelaide Club.

Library
The Club’s Fowler-Brownsworth Library is a boutique lending library located on the upper landing of the Club premises. It contains an extensive range of Australian military history that aims to promote the Club’s military heritage while providing an attractive venue for meetings.

For those wanting something more entertaining, members and guests may read or borrow a book from the range of fiction books located in the Business Lounge.

Bridge Group
The Club’s bridge group meets five times a year with dates of meetings posted in the Club calendar

Mahjong Group
The Club’s Mahjong group meet in the Ward Room every Monday. New members are welcome with lessons offered to beginners.

Golf
A Club Golf Day is held around August each year and an annual Golf match, The Gall Cup, is played in April against the Adelaide Club. Both days are concluded by a dinner.

Sporting Guns
Regardless of experience, all members are welcome to try clay-target shooting. A number of shooting events are held throughout the year, culminating in the annual twilight shoot between the Sporting Guns of the Naval, Military and Air Force Club and the Gentlemen Guns of the Adelaide Club.
